Prologue

 So, as with most things there must be a starting point.  In general I would say Anne and I had ours about 2 years ago, and while neither of us agree on a specific date, mostly because we don’t recall any, we do tend to agree on the same general time frame.  The upside of this of course being that, at least as a generality, that both of us are absolved of recalling “first this” and “first that” items, at least in my mind.

  We met through a game called Puzzle Pirates and quickly became acquaintances.  It wasn’t until about a year later when we really started playing spades heavily that we became friends.  How this happened I’m not entirely sure, seeing as I’m a horribly poor sport when it comes to such games.

  Despite this, we ended up taking our chats away from the game and onto things like instant messenger.  It’s at this point that confusion set in, because this wonderful woman decided to keep talking, after getting to know me better.  

  I was originally destined to go out to the Netherlands over the New Years with several of my friends for the 2007-2008 changeover.  Life being what it is though sort of changed my plans, and I did not go. Truth be told though it was probably for the best.  Unable to meet, we continued talking through our usual channels.  

  Anne had been planning a trip to the US for some time already, and one day I half jokingly suggested that she come to Seattle for part of that trip.  She thought it would be fun, and soon plans were made.  A lot happened during that visit, which I shall now artfully glass over, sorry but sleep is calling.

  I’ll end this post by saying that I’m looking forward to my trip abroad.  Takeoff comes on the 6th of August, and barring any issues I’ll arrive the following day.  Stay tuned for more info and thanks for dropping by.
